Santa Cruz River is the only significant steelhead river that flows into the Atlantic Ocean.

Strong runs of steelhead, fish which seem to average 6-18 pounds, and the only one in the country that has steelheads.

Is situated in Southern Patagonia in the 50° south latitude, it extends for 380 kms from the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean. It is 100 to 300mts wide.

Two glacier lakes (Argentino & Viedma) show their emerald milk colour.

It is a full-flowing river with the maximum temperature is 15° C in January and minimum 4° C in May.

The Santa Cruz River is a difficult river that requires very good castings, heavy equipments and excellent technique of streamers.
