Piedra Pintada Lodge is a unique project. Lying within the heart of almost untouched nature, offering everything today’s demanding clients expect to find: Excellence in Comfort, Facilities and Service. All of this has been accomplished without harming the perfect environ-mental surroundings of the resort.

Dominating the Lake Pulmari (also known as Kelüke Lake), and very near the Lanin National Park, is Piedra Pintada. It is set in the transitional area between the Patagonian Andes forest and the Patagonian steppe and is known for its native tree-species such as Araucaria, Cypress, Antarctic Beech, South American Beech and wild Apple Trees.

The 178 bird species logged up to date here, illustrate the rich biodiversity of the environment. The mouth of Pulmarí river, as well as the outcroppings of rock along the lake (for nesting), are the areas most frequented by birds.

It is common to find Ibis, Upland Geese, Coots, Ducks, Swans and Grebes.

In the wooded mountain sides nearby, many other species can be seen.

In the surrounding mountains. Condors and Eagles are often spotted.

Fly Fishing  In the Lakes and Rivers you will find Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout, which were introduced some 80 years ago, as well as native fish species, such as the “Puyén”, “Perca” (a variety of perch) and “Peladilla”.

They share their habitat with the Coypus, who can be observed in the lake and along the river banks.

Piedra Pintada Lodge also has a Wildlife Reserve where you will frequently find Red Deer and Fallow Deer, among others.

A perfect environment where man will naturally integrate with the area’s biodiversity: ideal for photographic safaris, bird watching and nature watching.
